Leading Lines

Doing a river walk I just happened to look up and saw the converging lines of this building near one of Chicago’s draw bridges. I liked the symmetry of the corner of this building but wanted just a hint of the location of this photo. I like pairing this photo with “Silicon Reflections” another building photo of Chicago.

Silicon Reflections

Shot in Chicago near Daley Plaza, I saw the building reflected on the glass and it made me think about all the great buildings in Chicago and how they all create this amazing skyline. I like pairing this photo with “Leading Lines” another building photo of Chicago.

Stouts Photoshoot

Did a small shoot of some stouts for and dark beer event. These are some of the rare stouts that you can’t usually find anywhere. I wanted the black backdrop to make the artwork on all these beers really pop out and the reflections on the granite I thought gave it some nice leading lines to draw you eye into the beers.

I wish I would have been able to drink these.

Chicago through Gehry

Walking through Millennium Park, I wound up in the theater, and the soft round lines, contrasted with some of Chicago’s most iconic buildings in the background. I wanted the Gehry theater to just peak through in this image, while still focusing on the amazing Chicago Sky line.

Bridges and Reflections

Shot HDR in October 2018, this was a little bit of a lucky shot as I was walking around Chicago, photographing random people and scenes. As I was walking across the bridge I saw this and quickly set up the tripod and there it was.

Reflections of Sevilla

Taken in the summer I shot this at sunset after seeing the beautiful reflection in the water. This scene struck me as just very tranquil and and the lines leading everything back to the tower in the Palaza de Espana.

Costa Sunset

This was a great sunset, with the jagged rocks, and beautiful orange and purples. I had hiked down to the edge of the city past everyone else and managed to get just this amazing spot for this series. I cropped this out as a 16×9 to give it a slight widescreen feel making it feel like a wide landscape.

The Parthenon

This image was take in 1998 and had just this great late afternoon light. It was a little cloudy but I was able to get a shot that had no clouds in the background and the blue very much looked like the blue of the Greek flag.

Now this part of the Parthenon is under construction and has cranes and scaffolding all around it.

Buckingham Reflected

I had taken a series of images of Buckingham Fountain throughout the evening and night. I was standing where I took this shot earlier in the evening and the wind changed and I was getting wet from the fountain so I moved to the other side for most of the other shots. As I packed everything up and was walking back to the car, when walked by here and saw the reflection of the fountain on the ground. I unpacked everything and set up to take another set of pictures.

I’m very happy with this image and I cropped it to fit a 16×9 format giving it that little bit of a theatrical look and with the vivid colors this picture easily became the star of the images from that night.

Cordoba Old and New

This was a great color photo as well. There were so many different colors in this but I felt he contrasts of all the different textures made this a better black and white. The new building in the background though the arches were yet another contrast in this picture as they were so much uniform.

The texture of the Hahnemühle paper adds yet another layer of texture to this fine art print.

Pura Vida Falls

Taken in Costa Rica after a ATV trip into the rainforest, there was just this tiny clearing that you could see this fall from. We had great time riding out there and shooting lots of images.

This shows the Fountain of Lions as you walk through the gates to get into the courtyard.
